To install these drivers, simply copy them into your DAWNPTRL directory on
your hard drive, and then run SVGATEST. If SVGATEST beeps when you try to
choose a video driver, simply press [ESC] and rename some of the .svc files
with an extension other than .svc, .s3d, or .sga. I recommend your initials.
SVGATEST can only handle so many drivers at once so rename about 5 or 7
drivers that you are pretty sure will not fit your card. If you would like
to try those drivers later, simply rename those files with the .svc extension,
and rename 5 or 7 of the drivers you already tried with your initials.
NOTE: Many of the cards will work with drivers that don't specifically seem
to fit the card.
Example: A Stealth64 series card may work with any of the below
listed drivers.
NR9_GXE
NR9_128
VISION
ET4000
BAHAMA64
STLTH64D
If in doubt as to which driver is the best to try, choose 'Z' for other as
your video card type, and then choose 'A' to display technical information.
This may help to give you a clue as to which chipset is on your card.
S3 TRIO32 & TRIO64 users!!!!!
=============================
If the provided drivers do not work, choose 'Z', 'B', 'A' go through test 1
and test 2. When you get to test 3, choose 'C' for Coordinate method, and
then use PGUP or PGDN to scroll the test screen off your monitor. The screen
will go black, then get strange graphics, then the test screen will come back
onto your monitor, and be shifted to the side. Continue holding the PGUP or
PGDN key unitl the test screen PAGE 2 is centered on your monitor. Then press
'Y'.
