  12. How to Install the Mission of the Month
  13. =======================================
  14. This is the fourth in the Mission of the Month series for
  15. Top Gun: Fire at Will. Since Mission of the Month #4
  16. contains Missions of the Month #1, #2, #3 and #4, you can
  17. install this to your Top Gun game even if you don't have
  18. the earlier Missions of the Month already installed. (Of
  19. course, it also works if you already have Mission of the
  20. Month #1, #2 and #3.)

  22. The Mission of the Month installer only works if you installed
  23. the standard version (40MB) or maximum version (140MB) of Top
  24. Gun. The Mission of the Month installer will not work if you
  25. installed the minimum version of the game (16MB).
  26.  
  27. The Mission of the Month installer works with both versions
  28. 1.0 and 1.1 of Top Gun.
  29.  
  30. Although the Mission of the Month installer will work with the
  31. German version of Top Gun, the mission text for the briefing
  32. and debriefing is only in English.
  33.  
  34. To install the Top Gun Mission of the Month:
  35.  
  36. 1. Make sure you have 1.5MB (1500K) free on your hard drive.
  37.  
  38. 2. Copy the TGMOM04.EXE file into your \TOPGUN directory.
  39.  
  40. 3. Verify that your download of TGMOM04.EXE is OK by
  41.    comparing the number of bytes in the file size.
  42.    At the DOS prompt, type "DIR TGMOM04.EXE" and the number
  43.    should be about 320,000 bytes.
  44.  
  45. 4. Type "TGMOM04" at the DOS prompt to run the executable. The
  46.    TGMOM04.EXE file must be run from your \TOPGUN directory.
  47.    The file will automatically self-extract and decompress the
  48.    Mission of the Month installer files into that directory.
  49.  
  50. 5. Type "ADDMOM" to install the Mission of the Month #4. The
  51.    installation may take a few minutes, depending on your
  52.    computer.
  53.  
  54. 6. When the update is finished, you can type "CLEANUP" to
  55.    delete the no longer needed files from your \TOPGUN
  56.    directory.
  57.  
  58. You can verify that your copy of Top Gun has added the
  59. Mission of the Month #4 by selecting "Instant Action" from
  60. the Main menu. Then scroll down to mission #24 and you should
  61. see "Cuba '96/4."
