Title : The Guardhouse
Filename : guard.bsp
Author : Andrew Smith
Email Address : andrew@amorph.demon.co.uk
Description : Single Player / Deathmatch Quake Map
Additional Credits to : Tim and the cat, for playtesting
Chris and Trey for Quest (the best!)
Robert Miller, for "quake101.wad"
================================================================
* Play Information *
Single Player : Yes
Cooperative : Yes - up to 10 players
Deathmatch : Yes - up to 10 players
Difficulty Settings : Easy, normal, hard and nightmare.
Please note that I've tried to keep
the difficulty settings the same as
those in the actual game maps, so
"easy" is *very* easy, "normal"
provides a bit of a challenge, and
"hard" and "nightmare" are extremely
difficult. The level is intended to
be played on "nightmare" as that will
provide the most entertainment.
The map has been played multiple times
on all difficulty settings, with no
cheating, and *is* possible. The level
has been designed with strategy in
mind, so it's critically important to
find the right way of approaching
each area. The "berserker" approach
will rarely work, if ever.

* Other Info *
This is a "sample" level from a new Quake episode entitled
The Epoch Turning. It is the second level from the episode
and has been released to "test the water". If you have any
comments, please eMail me (andrew@amorph.demon.co.uk) and
feel free to be as critical as you want. I would also
appreciate hearing from you if you enjoy playing it as it's
always nice to be appreciated.
To play this level, extract the file "pak0.pak" into your
Quake directory and then start the game using the command
"QUAKE -GAME ." (without the quotation marks). Type
"MAP EPOCH" at the console and you'll find yourself on a
small, simple map with four teleports, one for each
difficulty setting. Walk through one of the teleports and
you'll be taken to The Guardhouse.
