  1. The Hotline Connect software suite enables Server communities on
  2. personal computers worldwide that combined, comprise the Hotline 
  3. Network. Hotline Communications cannot, and does not, monitor, track 
  4. or control the activity or content on Hotline Servers outside the 
  5. Hotline Network, and as such, does not guarantee the accuracy, 
  6. integrity or quality of such activity or content. 
  7.  
  8. Hotline Communications does, however, extend the following Usage Policy 
  9. to all users, including those users on Servers outside the Hotline 
  10. Network, as a guide to personal conduct while on Hotline. We advise all 
  11. Hotline users NOT to use Hotline software to do the following: 
  12.  
  13. a. upload, post or otherwise transmit Content that is unlawful, 
  14. harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, 
  15. obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, 
  16. ethnically or otherwise objectionable; 
  17.  
  18. b. harm minors in any way (Server administrators who wish to share 
  19. private material with Server visitors are asked to use the Server's 
  20. security features to limit Server access to minors); 
  21.  
  22. c. impersonate any person or entity, including, but not limited to, a 
  23. Hotline Communications representative, employee, guide or host, or 
  24. falsely state or otherwise misrepresent any affiliation with a person 
  25. or entity; 
  26.  
  27. d. upload, post or otherwise transmit any content without the express 
  28. right to transmit under any law or under contractual or fiduciary 
  29. relationships, such as inside information, proprietary and confidential 
  30. information that is learned or disclosed as part of employment 
  31. relationships or under nondisclosure agreements; 
  32.  
  33. e. upload, post or otherwise transmit any content that infringes any 
  34. patent, trademark, trade secret copyright or other proprietary rights 
  35. of any party; 
  36.  
  37. f. upload, post or otherwise transmit any unsolicited or unauthorized 
  38. advertising, promotional materials, junk mail, spam, chain letters, 
  39. pyramid schemes, or any other form of solicitation, except in those 
  40. areas (such as shopping areas) that have been designated for such 
  41. purposes; 
  42.  
  43. g. upload, post or otherwise transmit any material that contains 
  44. software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed 
  45. to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer 
  46. software or hardware or telecommunications equipment; 
  47.  
  48. h. disrupt the normal flow of dialogue, or otherwise act in a manner 
  49. that negatively affects other users' ability to engage in real time 
  50. exchanges; 
  51.  
  52. i. interfere with or disrupt the Hotline Service or Server Network 
  53. connected to the Service, or disobey any requirements, procedures, 
  54. policies or regulations of networks connected to the Service; 
  55.  
  56. j. intentionally or unintentionally violate any applicable local, 
  57. state, national or international law, including, but not limited to, 
  58. any rules of any national or other securities exchange, and any 
  59. regulations having the force of law; 
  60.  
  61. k. "stalk" or otherwise harass other users; 
  62.  
  63. l. collect or store personal data about other users. 
  64.  
  65. Hotline Communications has also implemented a number of measures to 
  66. help protect the rights, property, and personal safety of Hotline 
  67. Communications, its users and the public on the Hotline Network, 
  68. including:
  69.  
  70. Terms of Service: All administrators of Servers listed on the Hotline 
  71. Network are required to agree to our Terms of Service before listing on 
  72. our Network.
  73.  
  74. Client License Agreement: All users of the Hotline Client are required 
  75. to agree to the terms outlined in their Client License Agreement before 
  76. downloading the Client software. 
  77.  
  78. Server License Agreement: All users of the Hotline Server are required 
  79. to agree to the terms outlined in their Server License Agreement before 
  80. downloading the Server software. 
  81.  
  82. Room 222: Updated information and online discussions on political and 
  83. legal developments concerning the Internet are held regularly in Room 
  84. 222 (IP 207.245.14.163.222), a Server on HLtracker.com. 
  85.  
  86. Please report any violations of the Hotline Usage Policy and/or Terms 
  87. of Service to pr@BigRedH.com. If possible, please include the IP 
  88. address of the offending Server and the approximate time, date and 
  89. details of the violation.
