QUICK RESTART (TEST-DRIVE)
--------------------------
QUICK SETUP/INSTALLATION NOTES:
-------------------------------
1) Copy all the distribution files on to a high density floppy disk
or unzip them from the distribution file into a seperate directory
on your hard disk.
2) Run SETUP.EXE from this directory from your Windows 95 START menu
or from the Program Manager (File/Run) in Windows 3.1.
(Please note you can not use Quick Restart while logged on a LAN network
as the network sessions may not be properly restored. The version
of Quick Restart is a StandAlone/ Non-Network version).
3) Enter Registration information, Choose C:\QRESTART as the
default directory. Never choose a common util directory or such
where you have programs other than Quick Restart installed as
during uninstallation entire contents of the Quick Restart directory
will be deleted.
4) Once the files are copied, your computer will be restarted
and configuration for Quick Restart will take place on the next
reboot. This may take a few minutes. After successful configuration
your computer will again be rebooted and you will return back to
Windows.
5) Now the Quick Restart tray icon will appear on the Windows 95 taskbar
or the Quick Restart toolbar will appear in Windows 3.1.
Your system will be configured for default hotkey of SHIFT and BACKSPACE
keys pressed together to invoke Quick Shutdown. From Windows 95 you
can also click on the Start Menu shutdown option which will bring up
Quick Restart's shutdown confirmation box. If you decide to do a normal
shutdown than using Quick Restart shutdown, you have the option of
doing so in this dialog. It is also possible to change the Quick Restart
settings to not intercept Windows 95's normal shutdown button function.
Double clicking on the Desktop tray icon in Windows 95 will bring up
the Quick Restart toolbar, which you may leave on your desktop if
your prefer to have it always available on the desktop.
6) In Windows95, the Quick View Changer function to switch resolutions
in enabled to be invoked by the Scroll-Lock key. You may disable
the Scroll lock key use for Quick View change if you decide not
to use it or your scroll lock is to be used for any other purpose.
The Quick View Changer function is available only in Windows 3.1.
The complete User's manual (MANUAL.DOC) in Word document format can be
found in the Quick Restart program folder.
