  1.                       LifeSaver Readme File v3.01

  3. LifeSaver is a Windows 95 configuration file backup and restore utility. It 
  4. can be used to recover from problems due to corrupt configuration files or 
  5. changes to configuration files which can not be undone. LifeSaver has many 
  6. useful features which are described below. The Standard features are available 
  7. to registered and unregistered users. The Additional features are only 
  8. available to registered users, and for a 30 day trial period to unregistered 
  9. users.  Version 3.00 has a new interface which is more flexible and easier to use.

  11. Standard features:
  12.    - Backup and Restore up to seven different configuration files
  13.    - Run from the command line with scheduling programs (i.e. System Agent)
  14.    - Add to System Agent, StartUp folder, or desktop during install
  15.    - Smart install changes default options based on system configuration
  16.    - Save up to 2 backups
  17.    - Restore system files from the command prompt (DOS) mode 
  18.      with self-generating batch file
  19.    - Safely restore the registry files from Windows
  20.    - Quick restore with right mouse button on backup list
  21.    - Restore to an alternate directory
  22.    - Restore individual files
  23.    - Right mouse button support (including "What's This?" help)
  24.    - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) in on-line help
  25.    - User selectable Toolbar, Status Bar, and backup sort order
  26.    - Resizable screen for long backup names
  27.    - Rename backups at any time
  28.    - Enhanced on-line documentation

  31. Additional features:    (for 30 day trial period and registered version only)

  34.      (after 30 day trail period unregistered version requires PkZip and PkUnzip)

  36.      (reduced to 2 after 30 day trail period unless registered)

  38.         - Silent install option (no user prompts required)
  39.         - Configure default options for install 
  40.           (i.e. add to System Agent, add to StartUp folder,

  43. NOTE: After the 30 day trail period, the additional features will be disabled 
  44. unless the program is registered (see details below). Only the backup portion 
  45. of the features above will be disabled, the restore options will remain enabled.
  46. LifeSaver will continue to restore any files which were previously backed up.

  87. 'Help' then 'About...', and type in your name and code (both are case sensitive).

  92. features and to determine if you want to register.  Once you receive
