  21. Overview

  24. Advanced Office 97 Password Recovery (or simply AO97PR) has been
  25. designed for recovering the lost passwords for Microsoft Office 97
  26. and Office 2000 documents. In addition, it can be used for
  27. analysing the security of your Office documents. You can recover
  28. passwords for  Microsoft Word, Excel and Access 97/2000 (Access 95
  29. is also supported).

  31. The program is compatible with all international (non-english)
  32. versions of MS Office.

  34. The "open" passwords for Word/Excel files created in French version
  35. of Microsoft Office (actually, in any version, but with French
  36. regional settings) and for Access 95/97/2000 databases can be decrypted
  37. instantly; recovering other ones is done using brute-force and
  38. dictionary attacks (sometimes time-consuming). See help files for
  39. more deails.

  41. In addition, the program can recover (instantly!) the
  42. write-reservation passwords in Word and Excel (the one required
  43. to make the modifications to the file), as well as the passwords for
  44. workbook and individual sheets in Excel, and document protection
  45. password in Word.

  47. Note: this program cannot recover the passwords for documents
  48. created with older versions of Microsoft Word (2.0, 6.0, 7.0/95)
  49. and Microsoft Excel (4.0, 5.0, 7.0/95). If you have such ones,
