  16. ATV2000 is freeware. It means it can be free distributed,
  17. copied, burned to CD etc., but only as is in this installation
  18. package. It cannot be distributed as part of any other
  19. software, no part of ATV2000 can be included to other software
  20. and cannot be distributed with TV Cards.

  22. Also there is no responsibility for any demage of computer,
  23. it may cause. You are running it on your own risc. There is no
  24. official support, but i try to respond to all questions
  25. {except the stupid ones) you send me.

  31. 1. Introduction
  32.  
  33. Thank you for trying  ATV2000 - TV viewing application 
  34. with capture for Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP.
  35.

  37. 2. Short description
  38.  
  39. ATV2000 is based on two parts - main control panel,
  40. which controls all TV functions - tunning, sound 
  41. control and detection and makes easy interface.
  42.  
  43. The second is video viewing and capture part. It
  44. supports two interfaces - Video for Windows and
  45. WDM (DirectShow) interface.
  46.  
  47. Part of is player with subtitles support, replace your
  48. standart media player (Windows Media Player, MicroDVD ...)
  49.  
  50. Note for sheduler:
  51. Full support for sheduling including Shutdown and Wake up
  52. is only under WDM. VfW allows not setting video compression,
  53. so you must enable capture mode and set compression manually.
  54. Also Profiles are not implemented in VfW because of the same
  55. reason, so selecting profile in ARC2000 sheduler has no effect
  56. for VfW. Don't use Wake up with VfW !!! You can use shutdown
  57. after capture done.

  123. 5. Known limitations and issues
  124.  
  125. This software is still in developement, there may be some limitations
  126. and unworking (or incorrectly) functions. I have no responsibility
  127. for any damage of your computer or software installations,
  128. it may cause.

  130. Here is list of current issues:

  132. - in preview and capture mode preview distortion occures sometimes
  133.   (switch to overlay)
  134. - some changes in capture parameters in WDM may cause program crash,
  135.   because not all unstandart behaviour of codecs and filters may be
  136.   handled - is improved with every new version
  137.

  141. Near future: remove bugs, improve filters, more video formats to frame
  142.              grabber

  144. And later: 3D sound decoding (dolby surround) via Direct3D

  494.   mode and vice versa - it caused upside-down image when capturing in
  495.   RGB24 mode and in preview without overlay (video renderer should switch
  496.   automaticly to overlay mode, but he didn't - may be some problem with
  497.   graphics card, but my Matrox G400 as well G450 works great)
  498. - fixed setting of video properties when selecting from Capture/Video
  499.   menu and "Duplicate capture stream" enabled
  500. - added support for UYVY and RGB555 modes in Video frame grabber filter
  501. - removed the Color converter from Microsoft and using my Framegrabber
  502.   instead, it supports now RGB24, RGB555, YUY2 and UYVY modes, some code
  503.   improvements (~2% faster :-)) - in future needs to optimize it for
  504.   more speed (MMX)
  505. - added support for frame capture to BMP 16 bits in WDM
  506. - added setting of application priority (not recommended on Windows 9x/Me)

  510. - WDM image capture ! - not using Microsoft's samplegrabber like
  511.   other softwares, but my own directshow filter, which is faster
  512.   and supports YUY2 and RGB24 modes for correct overlay, more modes
  513.   will come in future to replace Microsoft's color convertor while 
  514.   capturing using smart tee filter for preview
  515. - implemented "Continue on other drive if full" to capture in WDM
  516.   with alternate directories, capture also keeps selected free space
  517.   on drive and does not start capture if less then selected space
  518.   available (for VfW later)
  519. - added option to automaticly overwrite file or autoindex
  520.   without displaying the message box
  521. - fixed setting of AVI interleaving introduced in PR13
