  1. Installation
  2. 1.   To Install, just run the Setup.exe program from the floppy.

  4. File Information
  5. 1.   medsauce.exe = The main executable.
  6. 2.   medsauce.ini = This file contains user settings. Paths to Wave files,
  7.      Midi files, etc. Setup dialog settings.
  8. 3.   medsauce.dat = The MediaSauce Compact Disc database file. All the
  9.      discs you type in are stored in this file.
  10. 4.   delmeds.exe = UnInstall MediaSauce executable.
  11. 5.   readme.txt = The file you are reading.

  13. MediaSauce Database Information
  14. 1.   Database filename is "medsauce.dat"
  15. 2.   Maximum number of entries in the database is 65,535.
  16. 3.   Maximum file size of "medsauce.dat" is 4,294,967,396 bytes
  17. 4.   Each edit field in the Compact Disc Database Dialog has a maximum
  18.      of 256 characters per field.

  20. To Uninstall MediaSauce
  21. 1.   Go to the directory where MediaSauce was installed.
  22. 2.   Run the delmeds.exe program.

  24. MediaSauce Startup Options
  25. 1.  "medsauce.exe test.wav" = Plays a Wave file, then exits.
  26. 2.  "medsauce.exe test.mid" = Plays a Midi file, then exits.
  27. 3.  "medsauce.exe test.rmi" = Plays a Midi file, then exits.
  28. 4.  "medsauce.exe test.avi" = Plays a Video for Windows file, then exits.
  29. 5.  "medsauce.exe test.mov" = Plays a Quicktime file, then exits.
  30. 6.  "medsauce.exe /play" = Runs MediaSauce, starts playing the CD.
  31. 7.  "medsauce.exe -play track04.cda" = Runs MediaSauce, starts playing track 4.

  34. 1.  Q.  Where can I get the MCI drivers for Quicktime?
  35.     A.  From the Apple Quicktime Web page. http://quicktime.apple.com/.

  37. 2.  Q.    I have the 32-bit Windows 95 version of MediaSauce. When I try to play
  38.     QuickTime MOV files I get the following error message. "MMSYSTEM263
  39.     This is not a registered MCI device".
  40.     A.    You need to download both the 16-bit and 32-bit versions of QuickTime
  41.     (version 2.11). The reason for downloading and installing both
  42.     versions is the following: 32-bit QuickTime for Windows does not have
  43.     an MCI driver for Windows 95. This is because Windows 95 does not
  44.     support 32-bit MCI drivers. 32-bit applications can still make MCI
  45.     calls, but they will be serviced by 16-bit QTW. Note that you can
  46.     install both 16-bit and 32-bit QTW on your system, and the 16-bit QTW
  47.     will automatically be used to support MCI. Make sure you download both
  48.     of these versions. Do not use an older 16-bit QTW with the new 32-bit
  49.     version. You can download these from the Apple Quicktime Web Page.

  52. 3.  Q.  What's the difference between the Conservative and the Generation X
  53.     versions of MediaSauce.
  54.     A.  The animations. Example: Generation X CD Player has a dancing doll
  55.     and the Conservative version has a flying rocket.
