For answers to common questions about HomeSite, just select 'Common Questions' from the 'Help' menu.
If you edit files containing JavaScript or ASP, make sure to check the 'Full script coloring' option on the Editor page in HomeSite's settings.
Now you can use Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.01 or later as HomeSite's built-in browser. Just go to the 'Internal Browser' page in HomeSite's 'Settings' to switch from HomeSite's default browser to MSIE.

Unlike other HTML editors, HomeSite lets you easily edit most existing tags. By right-clicking on a tag and selecting 'Edit Tag' from the popup menu, you can display the complete tag in a dialog box. This lets you modify that tag's parameters with minimal typing.
HomeSite enables you to load documents directly from the Web. Just select 'Open from the Web' from the 'File' menu.
To create a relative link to a local file, just drag-and-drop from the document list. You can use this same technique to add images, sounds and animations!
Just right-click on the file list and select 'View Thumbnails,' and HomeSite will display thumbnails of all the images in the current directory.
To see a list of links contained within an HTML document, simply right-click on it and select 'Properties.' For images, this technique will display the image's dimensions.
To go to a specific line in HomeSite's editor, simply press Ctrl+G and enter the line number. This is especially handy if you're using HomeSite with an HTML validator which tells you the lines containing errors (note: make sure to turn word-wrap off!).
You can indent entire blocks of text by selecting the text and selected 'Indent' or 'Unindent' from the 'Edit' menu.
HomeSite enables you to easily convert existing text to a list or table. Select the lines you want to convert, right-click, and choose 'Selection' from the popup menu. The 'Selection' sub-menu contains a number of other useful features, such as changing the case or stripping HTML tags from the selection.
You can modify HomeSite's settings by selecting 'Settings' from the 'Options' menu.
To connect or disconnect network drives from within HomeSite, just right click on the drive list.
HomeSite lets you choose which toolbars you want to see in the speedbar. Just right-click on any toolbar and select the toolbars to display.
Need to make a change in several files at once? Try HomeSite's 'Extended Replace' feature. You can search and replace in entire directories or projects using this feature. And unlike other editors, the replacement isn't limited to single lines of text - you can replace entire blocks of text if you wish.
HomeSite enables you to debug your CFML and ASP documents by passing your files through your web server before displaying them in the internal browser. Just search for 'Server Mapping' in the help file for details.
You can insert another file into the current document by selecting 'Insert' from the 'File' menu.
If your HTML documents always follow a similar format, you can specify an HTML document to use as a template each time you create a new document. Just select 'Settings' from the 'Options' menu, and go to the 'File Locations' page.
Do your documents use a non-standard extension? You can customize which file types are displayed in HomeSite by selecting 'Settings' from the 'Options' menu, and going to the 'File Types' page. You can also specify the default extension here.
There are keyboard shortcuts for most common HTML tags. Select 'Keyboard Shortcuts' from the 'Help Menu' to see which shortcuts are available.
If you maintain several different sites, try HomeSite's project feature. Here you can create projects comprised of different documents, and open them all at once.
For quick access to other tools in your Internet suite, add them to HomeSite's 'Apps' toolbar.
