  3. Diskeeper[R] Lite for Windows NT[R] V1.1.174a -- x86 Platform

  5. This text file provides information you should know about this 
  6. version of Diskeeper Lite.

  9. IMPORTANT NOTE
  10. ==============

  12. Executive Software recommends that you install Service Pack 3
  13. or higher on your computer prior to running Diskeeper Lite.
  14. Diskeeper Lite is only supported on laptop or notebook computers 
  15. running Service Pack 2 or higher for Windows NT 4.0.

  18. KNOWN INCOMPATIBILITIES IN THIS RELEASE
  19. =======================================
  20.  
  21. 1.  Diskeeper Lite for Windows NT is not compatible with systems 
  22.     using the DPT Smart Cache III controller, unless Service 
  23.     Pack 1 or higher for Windows NT 4.0  has been installed.  Do 
  24.     not run Diskeeper Lite on systems using the DPT Smart Cache 
  25.     III controller  until you install Service Pack 1 or higher on 
  26.     your Windows NT system.

  29. PLATFORMS AND OPERATING SYSTEM VERSIONS SUPPORTED

  32. This version of Diskeeper Lite is supported on Intel x86 
  33. platforms running Windows NT 4.0 builds 1381 and higher. 
  34. It is not supported on Windows NT 5.0.

  37. REQUIRED PRIVILEGES
  38. ===================
  39.  
  40. You must have Administrator privileges to install and
  41. operate Diskeeper Lite.
  42.

  44. INSTALLING DISKEEPER LITE
  45. =========================
  46.  
  47. Follow these steps to install Diskeeper Lite:
  48.  
  49. 1.  From Windows NT Explorer or File Manager, double click on
  50.     SETUP.EXE in the directory where this README.TXT file resides.
  51.  
  52. 2.  Read the information displayed in the Setup Installation 
  53.     Wizard boxes and click the "Next" button as appropriate.
  54.  
  55. 3.  In the "Choose Destination Location" dialog box, either 
  56.     accept the default installation location, or click the 
  57.     "Browse" button to specify a different disk and/or 
  58.     directory.  If you specify a directory that does not exist, 
  59.     the setup program will create it for you.  Click the 
  60.     "Next" button after specifying a disk and directory, or to 
  61.     accept the default installation location.

  63. 4.  After a short period of copying files, the installation is 
  64.     complete.

  67. UNINSTALLING DISKEEPER LITE
  68. ===========================

  70. Follow these steps to remove Diskeeper Lite from your computer:
  71.  
  72. 1.  From Control Panel, double click "Add/Remove Programs".
  73.  
  74. 2.  Click the "Install/Uninstall" tab.
  75.  
  76. 3.  Highlight "Diskeeper Lite".
  77.  
  78. 4.  Click the "Add/Remove" button.  This removes the Diskeeper 
  79.     Lite program files from your computer.
