  1. USING THE KUDO IMAGE BROWSER
  2.  
  3. The Kudo Image Browser is a powerful tool for viewing, sorting, placing, 
  4. and opening images. It is designed to be easy and intuitive to use. The 
  5. button bar at the top of the Kudo Browser window contains five buttons. 
  6. The first button on the left displays the images in small thumbnail view, the 
  7. second button displays the images in large thumbnail view, and the third 
  8. button displays the images in list format, which includes the assigned 
  9. keywords for each image in addition to the large thumbnail.

  11. The fourth button allows you to locate images by keyword. Keywords 
  12. include image orientation information (horizontal or vertical), color 
  13. information (red, blue, yellow, etc.), and other content-specific information 
  14. about what is in the images. The fifth button displays technical information 
  15. about the selected image, including file size in bytes, creation and 
  16. modification dates, keyword information, file location, application creator 
  17. and file type identification, and the image's canvas size. The image canvas 
  18. size information can be viewed in pixels, inches or centimeters.

  20. The images can be viewed in rapid succession in large thumbnail view by 
  21. clicking on the riffle arrows located in the lower right corner of the browser 
  22. window. By clicking and holding down the mouse on one of the arrows, 
  23. the images are rapidly displayed one after another within a single window. 
  24. The riffling speed can be increased by clicking and holding down the mouse 
  25. and moving toward the end of the arrow.

  27. The images can be previewed at larger sizes from within the browser 
  28. application. On the Macintosh platform, double-click on the image. On the 
  29. Windows platform, select the image and choose IMAGE PREVIEW from the 
  30. pull-down menu or type Control-E. Depending on the size of the image and 
  31. the speed of the computer being used, the preview may take several seconds 
  32. to load.

  34. The images can be opened by their parent applications directly from within 
  35. the browser program if the appropriate parent application is resident on the 
  36. computer. Double-click on the icon in the lower right corner of the image 
  37. window when in large gallery mode, and the application will launch 
  38. automatically.

  40. The images can be placed directly into a layout application by clicking on 
  41. the image, holding down the mouse button, and dragging the image from 
  42. the Kudo Catalog Reader window to the picture box or page of the layout 
  43. program. The image may also be exported to many layout and image 
  44. editing applications by choosing PLACE from the IMAGE pull-down 
  45. menu and selecting the desired program. The export function works only if 
  46. the destination application is running simultaneously with the browser 
  47. application.

  49. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE KUDO BROWSER USES THE MEDIUM CANVAS LOW-
  50. RESOLUTION IMAGES. 
  51. Your project may require use of the higher-resolution files.

  53. Export filters are routinely updated for use with revised versions of the 
  54. supported layout applications and can be found at the WWW site 
  55. http://www.imspace.com/, which is maintained by Kudo creator Imspace 
  56. Systems Corporation. Layout and editing applications currently supported 
  57. by the PLACE command include Adobe PageMaker, QuarkXPress, Fractal 
  58. Design Painter, Macromedia FreeHand, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere 
  59. and Adobe Photoshop.
