  1. This freeware edition of the 1995 Internet Lexicon
  2. is distributed as a thank-you from Dynamic Living Media
  3. to freeware and shareware authors everywhere for
  4. lightening our load and providing us with guilt-free
  5. tools and toys for so many years.

  7. It is also freeware because a tool like this has been
  8. needed for Windows for many years, and cost ought not
  9. be a barrier for such a vital resource.

  18. KNOWN BUGS:
  19.  
  20. The graphics and opening screens will not display
  21. properly on systems using CGA, EGA or large-font
  22. VGA, SVGA and XGA systems.  This is due to the way
  23. Windows Help handles graphics when large fonts are
  24. selected, and you will find that 90 percent of
  25. Windows help files have the same problem.  This bug
  26. occurs on Windows 3.1/3.11 and Windows 95.  We
  27. recommend the following as a fix:

  29. Windows 3.1/3.11:

  31. If your main problem is the small size of icon titles,
  32. add the following line to your WIN.INI file under the
  33. [Desktop] section:
  34. IconTitleSize=12
  35.  
  36. You can change this line incrementally to suit.  This
  37. should allow you to use small fonts and have better
  38. visibility of icon titles as well as graphical
  39. compatibility with Windows help tools.

  41. Windows 95:
  42. ----------
  43. The same applies.  It's probably the size of your Start
  44. menu text and dialog box text that prompted you to 
  45. select large fonts.  We recommend obtaining a program 
  46. called TWEAKUI.EXE, one of the free "power tools" 
  47. from Microsoft for Win95, from Microsoft's Web site or
  48. one of several locations on the Internet.  We are not
  49. giving the URL here since Microsoft has a habit of
  50. changing its URLs with alarming frequency, messing
  51. up everyone.  Instead, try a search for:

  59. ...using Yahoo or Webcrawler.  Many people have this
  60. utility linked to their Web pages.

  63. just the size of Start menu and dialog text, and if
  64. you're a heavy Windows user you will find it
  65. very useful.
