  6.                              WHAT IT IS...
  7.                          ----------------------
  8. This program allows you to select which way to boot up Windows 95. By default,
  9. you are brought straight into Windows, but with this utility you can choose.
  10. You have 3 options:
  11.         1 - Command Prompt
  12.                Which boots up the operating system and goes to the C:\> prompt.
  13.         2 - Windows 95 GUI
  14.                Which is the normal 95 boot sequence which goes into Windows.
  15.         3 - Internal Boot Menu
  16.                Which is the internal Windows 95 menu (Safe mode, command
  17.                prompt, Network safe mode, etc..)
  18.         4 - Previous DOS
  19.                Which boots the computer with the last version of DOS installed
  20.                prior to Windows 95.
  21. This program has been tested with the "Windows 95 Final Beta" and with the
  22. official release of Windows 95, currently available in stores. It works
  23. flawlessly, but as always, no guarantees are made.

  27.                              HOW TO INSTALL
  28.                          ----------------------
  29. The easiest way to install this is to unzip the archive and place these files:
  30. 95BOOTER.EXE and 95B.EXE
  31. into your C:\WINDOWS (or other Windows 95) directory. This directory should be
  32. in the path.

  35.                           HOW TO RUN 95BOOTER
  36.                          ----------------------
  37. You may run 95booter from the command prompt by typing 95BOOTER and press ENTER.
  38. It can also be run from Windows 95. The best way is to add the shortcut,
  39. 95BOOTER to the Start Button.

  42.                HOW TO RETURN TO WIN95 AFTER PREVIOUS DOS
  43.                          ----------------------
  44. If you have chosen Previous DOS and wish to return to Win95, simply go into the
  45. C:\WINDOWS (or wherever you installed 95booter) and type 95B and press ENTER.

  48.                      IF YOU DO NOT HAVE PREVIOUS DOS FILES
  49.                          ----------------------
  50. Some installations of Windows 95 do not save the previous dos information. This
  51. can still be easily done. You will need a copy of an old DOS boot disk. Any MS
  52. DOS version should work. I would suggest not using an original dos-boot disk.
  53. Use a copy of a dos-boot-disk instead. At the Windows 95 prompt (or in a window)
  54. Insert the dos-disk and type these lines:
  55. ATTRIB A:IO.SYS -S -H -R
  56. ATTRIB A:MSDOS.SYS -S -H -R
  57. COPY A:IO.SYS C:\IO.DOS
  58. COPY A:MSDOS.SYS C:\MSDOS.DOS
  59. COPY A:COMMAND.COM C:\COMMAND.DOS.

  61. This allows the old-dos files to be renamed *.DOS in your root directory.
  62. From there, The MultiBooter can function flawlessly!
  63. And, as always, I am not to be held responsible for anything that you may
  64. do wrong or can go wrong. There is no warranty for this program. You know the
  65. usual speech...
