  3. A money-editing edit cheat  -  By Simon Burrows

  6. `I was  planning on  making a really big edit for this particular
  7. `game, showing  you how  to edit  everything from  the number  of
  8. `seats in  the west  stand, to  the amount  of weeks left in your
  9. `loan repayment!  However, after seeing how long this would take,
  10. `and realising that there is only one major factor for success in
  11. `this game  anyway   (money), I decided that to just give you the
  12. `info on how to give yourself a huge sum of money would suffice.

  14. `To get  the edit to work is easy.  All you need to do is start a
  15. `new game with any club, then immediately save by clicking on the
  16. `icon at  the bottom  of the  screen with a picture of a disk and
  17. `the word 'options' on.  From there you should click on the left-
  18. `most disk, and you game will be saved before you are dumped back
  19. `to DOS.

  21. `Now load  a Hex  Editor such  as the  one in the NU package, and
  22. `pop-up the  file called  CMSAV1.DAT from  the main Club Football
  23. `directory.  When the file is displayed, use the cursors to guide
  24. `yourself to the Hex Location 244F3, and change the "00 20 A1 07"
  25. `you find  there to  "7F FF  FF FF".   Now save these changes and
  26. `quit back to DOS.

  28. `From the  command prompt,  load the game back up again, and this
  29. `time click  on the  icon to  load save-game 1.  When the game is
  30. `loaded, just  to prove  how much  money you've  got, go  to  the
  31. `screen with  all your  finances on,  and you  will see that your
  32. `bank balance has risen from a measly £500000 to a whopping great
  33. `£2131206432!

  36. `NOTE:  This amount of money is probably the maximum you can have,
  37. `       so it  is important  to spend  a lot of it before you earn
  38. `       some more,  otherwise your money-total will  scroll around
  39. `       from the  maximum possible  to the  minimum, so it reports
  40. `       that you are in the red!  It shouldn't really be a problem
  41. `       to get  rid of  lots of  that money  anyway, 'cos  there's
  42. `       plenty of very expensive players on the transfer market!

  44. `NOTE2: I found that some very strange things happened to the game
  45. `       a short  while after  getting this much cash.  It is quite
  46. `       possible it is just that I run out of memory, because I am
  47. `       attempting to  run the  game on  a  very  minimal  system.
  48. `       However, if  you get  similar problems, it may because the
  49. `       money-total is  too high.   If that's the case, simply put
  50. `       it down to something like "50 00 00 00" which should still
  51. `       be enough to see you to the top of the table.
