Windows Media Player 7 takes another giant step forward in Microsoft's quest to create an all-in-one player that enables the user to find, organize, and play every imaginable type of digital media. The new tab-indexed interface makes navigation much easier: You can play MP3s, watch movies, listen to over 1,500 Internet radio stations from around the world, copy an entire CD to your PC (while listening to it), organize your media into personalized playlists, and transfer your music to your portable music player. You can even click on the Skin Chooser tab to customize the way your Media Player looks. Windows Media Format files provide CD-quality digital music but are half the size of MP3 files, doubling your music storage and reducing download times for your digital music files. In addition to an equalizer for audio tuning, you'll find video-tuning controls for brightness, contrast, saturation, and hue. Note: This preview release is recommended only for technical evaluators and software developers and shouldn't be used on Windows 95 or NT systems.
