  7. License Agreement

  9. You should carefully read the following terms and conditions
  10. before using this software.  Unless you have a different license
  11. agreement signed by Nico Mak Computing, Inc. your use of this
  12. software you indicates your acceptance of this license agreement
  13. and warranty.

  15. Registered Version

  17. One registered copy of WinZip may either be used by a single
  18. person who uses the software personally on one or more computers,
  19. or installed on a single workstation used nonsimultaneously by
  20. multiple people, but not both.
  21.  
  22. You may access the registered version of WinZip through a network,
  23. provided that you have obtained individual licenses for the
  24. software covering all workstations that will access the software
  25. through the network.  For instance, if 8 different workstations
  26. will access WinZip on the network, each workstation must have its
  27. own WinZip license, regardless of whether they use WinZip at
  28. different times or concurrently.

  32. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of
  33. Connecticut.

  35. Disclaimer of Warranty

  37. THIS SOFTWARE AND THE ACCOMPANYING FILES ARE SOLD "AS IS" AND
  38. WITHOUT WARRANTIES AS TO PERFORMANCE OF MERCHANTABILITY OR ANY
  39. OTHER WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  In particular,
  40. there is no warranty for the optional virus scanning feature
  41. (WinZip does not scan for viruses, it simply runs external
  42. programs that claim to perform this function).  Because of the
  43. various hardware and software environments into which WinZip may
  44. be put, NO WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS
  45. OFFERED.

  47. Good data processing procedure dictates that any program be
  48. thoroughly tested with non-critical data before relying on it.
  49. The user must assume the entire risk of using the program.  ANY
  50. LIABILITY OF THE SELLER WILL BE LIMITED EXCLUSIVELY TO PRODUCT
  51. REPLACEMENT OR REFUND OF PURCHASE PRICE.

  55. Evaluation and Registration

  57. This is not free software.  You are hereby licensed to use this
  58. software for evaluation purposes without charge for a period of 21
  59. days.  If you use this software after the 21 day evaluation period
  60. a registration fee of $29 is required.  Payments must be in US
  61. dollars drawn on a US bank, and should be sent to Nico Mak
  62. Computing, Inc., P.O. Box 919, Bristol, CT 06011- 0919.  Credit
  63. card ordering and quantity discounts are available, as described
  64. in the section Ordering Information/Order Form.  When payment is
  65. received you will be sent a registered copy of the latest version
  66. of WinZip.

  68. Unregistered use of WinZip after the 21-day evaluation period is
  69. in violation of U.S. and international copyright laws.

  71. Distribution

  73. Provided that you verify that you are distributing the Shareware
  74. Version (select About from the WinZip Help menu to check) you are
  75. hereby licensed to make as many copies of the Shareware version of
  76. this software and documentation as you wish; give exact copies of
  77. the original Shareware version to anyone; and distribute the
  78. Shareware version of the software and documentation in its
  79. unmodified form via electronic means.  There is no charge for any
  80. of the above.

  82. You are specifically prohibited from charging, or requesting
  83. donations, for any such copies, however made; and from
  84. distributing the software and/or documentation with other products
  85. (commercial or otherwise) without prior written permission, with
  86. one exception:  Disk Vendors approved by the Association of
