  5. This file provides information for Shareware Distributors and Disk Vendors
  6. who wish to distribute the WinZip 6.0 package, including an extract from
  7. the license agreement and suggested program descriptions and keywords.

  13. The following paragraph is an extract from the license agreement
  14. regarding the distribution of the Shareware version of WinZip:

  16.     You are specifically prohibited from charging, or requesting
  17.     donations, for any such copies, however made; and from distributing
  18.     the software and/or documentation with other products (commercial or
  19.     otherwise) without prior written permission, with one exception:
  20. --> Disk Vendors approved by the Association of Shareware Professionals
  21. --> are permitted to redistribute WinZip, subject to the conditions in
  22. --> this license, without specific written permission.

  24.                       Obtaining the Latest Version

  26. Before distributing WinZip please verify that you have the latest
  27. version.  The latest versions of WinZip is always available on the
  28. WinZip Home page at www.winzip.com, and in the GO WINZIP area on
  29. CompuServe.

  53. Windows 95, Windows NT, and Windows 3.1 versions are available.
  54. Includes PKZIP-compatible built-in zip and unzip, so PKZIP is not needed
  55. for basic archive operations, and built-in support for popular Internet
  56. file formats:  TAR, gzip, and Unix compress.

  58. WinZip includes a powerful yet intuitive point-and-click drag-and-drop
  59. interface for viewing, running, extracting, adding, deleting, and
  60. testing files in ZIP, LZH, and ARC files, including self extracting
  61. archives.  Optional virus scanning support is included.

  65. The 32-bit version requires Windows 95 or Windows NT.  The 16-bit
  66. version requires Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups.  No other
  67. programs are are required for basic ZIP operations.  Optional features
  68. require external programs, including the shareware PKZIP/PKUNZIP product
  69. from PKWARE, Inc. or ARJ from Robert Jung or LHA.EXE from Haruyasu
  70. Yoshizaki.  WinZip interfaces to several programs to access ARC files
  71. and optionally runs most virus scanning utilities, including
  72. Windows-based virus scanners.
