Program Description
******************************************************************
Purpose: Graphics Display
Features: A self generating color kaleidoscopic program utilizing
the full complement of capabilities of the detected video
hardware to provide many hours of changing visual
viewscapes. Performance art for the eyes using over 30
drawing algorithms and an assortment of "fades" and
special effects to exercise the range of available
display techniques, providing an entertaining excursion
through the capabilities of PC graphics technology.
Source may be purchased as a learning tool for graphical
programming techniques.
Enhancements: This version uses multi-screen effects (split-screen and
panning) as part of the "fade" process. DAZZLE now
supports PC/XT models, in addition to the 286/386
systems. The 8514/a video adapter can now be used in VGA
compatible mode. The "TAB" key can be used to FREEZE any
display for photograph or image capture. Additional
command line options improve portability and provide even
greater flexibility in controlling the displayed images.
The image drawing code has been optimized in assembler
for faster screen generation. More drawing algorithms
have been added, of special note is the "filled ellipse".
The background can now be other than solid black. The
anti-viral checking has been enhanced for greater
security. Error trapping and handling has been added.
Video hardware detection during startup has been slightly
improved. EGA palette construction is improved. SHOW
mode images are now randomized.
Revision 4.0b is a minor incremental upgrade of the 4.0
product that has the following enhancements;
* Use of Exclusive-OR techniques for "mosaic" texturing
of overlapping images.
* The color palette can now use less than full intensity
on all colors, producing markedly more subtle coloring
variations, and softer pastel tones.
* The "H" command line option will hide the screen
boarder in EGA modes.
