The second phase of the Battle of Britain has met with success. RAF Fighter Command has been grievously weakened by heavy attacks on its airfields.
Our orders have changed, however. You are now directed to focus your attacks on London, apparently in retaliation for recent night-bomber attacks on Berlin. Perhaps the damage to civilian morale will bring the English to a sensible armistice.
All squadron airplanes are available. Significant bomber resources will be attached to your command.
