  8. Q-BOP is a version of the basic oxygen process. A Q-BOP furnace has no overhead oxygen lance. Instead, the oxygen is blown in through <I>tuyeres</I> (pipes) at the bottom of the furnace. Q-BOP makes steel faster than the basic oxygen process.
