David ruled the kingdom of Israel from about 1000 to 960 B.C. Under his rule, the kingdom grew in size and power. This wall painting shows the prophet Samuel anointing David king. In the Bible, one of the most famous stories about David tells of how he killed the giant Goliath with only a sling and five stones.
