  13. Bywater Software is pleased to announce the public availability
  14. of its Space Flight Simulator in its first complete release, 
  15. version 1.01.  This software is copyright (c) 1991, Ted A. 
  16. Campbell, and is released under the terms of an agreement specified
  17. in the file "sfs.ro".  
  18.  
  19. Description:    The Space Flight Simulator offers a graphics-based,
  20.         real-time, animated simulation of orbital flight.  
  21.         Users can develop simulations by specifying a complete
  22.         range of orbital parameters, and can develop simulations
  23.         for all of the planets of the solar system and for some
  24.         other celestial bodies.  A particularly full map is
  25.         given of the earth, which can be viewed as it would
  26.         appear from the orbiting spacecraft, as a ground-track
  27.         map, or as a "distant perspective" in which the earth
  28.         (or another orbital focus) and the orbital track can
  29.         be seen together.

  31. Requirements:    This implementation of the Space Flight Simulator
  32.         requires an IBM PC or compatible microcomputer,
  33.         with Hercules, EGA, or VGA graphics.  The optional
  34.         use of a pointer device (mouse) is supported. A
  35.         fast cpu and a math coprocessor will also speed up
  36.         and smooth out the overall display. The program 
  37.         requires one disk drive that has at least 700k
  38.         of space available.

  40. Documentation:    Complete documentation for this program is in the
  41.         file "sfs.ro", which is in a format compatible 
  42.         with the "ro" text formatter (also supplied).

  44. Source Code:    This release of the Space Flight Simulator will
  45.         include source code for the complete Space Flight
  46.         Simulator, and its underlying User Interface (ui).
  47.         The source code can be compiled on the PC-compatible
  48.         microcomputers, the AT&T Unix PC, and on Unix
  49.         Platforms which have implemented the X Windows
  50.         system, version 11 (tested on DecStation 2100 and
  51.         3100).
