  3.                  Lesson 5 : Split Star Trek doors                           
  4. =====================================================================
  5. Purpose:
  6.    A tutorial on making Split Star Trek doors in Duke Nukem 3D using 
  7.    Build. Note that a Star Trek door and a Split Star Trek door are 
  8.    two different kinds of doors. I explained ordinary Star Trek doors
  9.    in lesson 4 (door9.zip).

  11. Step 1:
  12.    Make a regular Star Trek door.
  13.  
  14. Step 2:
  15.    Move the ceiling and the floor of the door sector. Point at the 
  16.    door and press 'PgDn' to move the ceiling down. Point at the little 
  17.    triangled area of the door sector that is still visible when you 
  18.    look at the floor, and press 'PgDn' to get the floor up. Choose a
  19.    cool texture for the door.

  21. Step 3:
  22.    Let the ceiling and floor meet together halfway. You're now
  23.    finished with constructing the split Star Trek door. Now we're
  24.    ready to add the finishing touches.

  26. Step 4:
  27.    Give the door sector a Lo-Tag of 26. Add a Speed sprite and
  28.    a Music&SFX sprite as necessary. Again you'll get to hear the
  29.    sound twice when you open the door. I guess there's no way to
  30.    fix this problem. Either accept the buggy sound or make the door
  31.    silent.
