- Cash Flow Worksheet
-
- ÀáSelecting a Checking AccountÀá
-
- In the upper left of the Cash Flow Worksheet window is a pop-up menu
-
- containing all accounts with checking privileges. If you do not see your checking
-
- account in the list, choose Chart of Accounts from the General Ledger command
-
- center and assign checking privileges to the account.
-
-
-
- ÀáDays to Look AheadÀá
-
- Enter the number of days you want to include in your cash flow forecast and
-
- press Tab.
-
-
-
- ÀáNote:Àá The Days to Look Ahead is preset to 30. You may accept it by pressing Tab
-
- or change it and press Tab. M.Y.O.B. fills the worksheet with the predicted
-
- transactions for that period.
-
-
-
- ÀáNote:Àá The worksheet includes known payables and receivables. It does not know
-
- about sales or purchases yet to be made. If you try to look ahead much farther
-
- than your average credit terms (30 to 90 days for most businesses), your cash
-
- flow accuracy will suffer.
-
-
-
- ÀáThe WorksheetÀá
-
- The Cash Flow Worksheet includes:
-
-
-
- 1. Recurring transactions for the selected checking account within the look-
-
- ahead range. The frequency of the recurring transaction is taken into
-
- account. If, for example, the transaction recurs weekly, it is shown four
-
- times in a 28-day look ahead.
-
-
-
- If the selected checking account is the linked checking account for receivables
-
- (see Set Up Receivables in Chapter GS 3), the worksheet includes:
-
-
-
- 2. Past due receivables
-
- 3. Receivables becoming due within the look-ahead range
-
-
-
- If the selected checking account is the linked checking account for payables (see
-
- Set Up Payables in Chapter GS 3), the worksheet includes:
-
-
-
- 4. Past due payables
-
- 5. Payables becoming due within the look-ahead range
-
-
-
- Change to $0.00 any amounts that you don’t expect to pay or receive. Scroll to
-
- the bottom of the list to add any transactions that M.Y.O.B. did not include. Enter a
-
- description of the transaction, the due date and the money in or out.
-
-
-
- When you have completed the worksheet, click Analyze Cash Needs.
-
-
-
- ÀáAnalyze Cash NeedsÀá
-
- M.Y.O.B. takes the information entered in the Cash Flow Worksheet, sorts it by
-
- date and calculates the projected running balance of your selected checking
-
- account within the look ahead range.
-
-
-
- Click Return to Worksheet to modify any information.
