The following suggestions are offered as potential solutions to the stated condition. You may want to try any or all of them.
If GLMStat crashes upon opening a file
• The file may be corrupted, use a backup version if possible otherwise the only alternative is to start from scratch.
If you get the message, "not enough memory"
• Close all graphs that you don’t need.
• Reduce the size of the clipboard (if there's something large in it) by cutting or copying something simple, such as a text character.
• If you are using System 7 or MultiFinder, you can increase the amount of memory allocated to GLMStat from the Get Info dialog box.
1. Select the GLMStat icon and choose Get Info from the File menu.
2. Select the Application Memory Size box and enter a larger number than is currently there.
3. Click the Close box to close the window.
If you have problems importing files
• The files may not be in the appropriate format. Make sure that they were saved with either tabs or spaces between each data entry.
• The data may contain missing values identified by either "•" or "*". GLMStat doesn't allow for missing values and so these will be rejected as invalid. Attempt to rearrange your data to remove these (be careful, as only occaisonly will this be valid) or give up.
If you have trouble printing
• Check that the Chooser is set for the desired printer.
• Check that you are using appropriate printer resources for your current system software.
• Remove, then reinstall all the printer resources from your System disks with the Installer and restart your computer. Then reselect your printer from the Chooser.
• Deactivate or remove any print spooler utilities from the System Folder or Extensions folder.
• Allocate more memory to the Print Monitor in your System Folder, if you have turned on Background Printing in the Chooser.
Print Monitor is an application that came with your System and holds documents while they wait to be printed.
To increase the Print Monitor allocated memory:
1. Select the Print Monitor icon and choose Get Info from the File menu. You can find the Print Monitor icon in the Extensions folder, if you have System 7, or the System Folder if you have System 6.
2. Select the Application Memory Size box and type 256.
3. Click the Close box to close the window.
If your ImageWriter rolls back to print
• You are probably printing in Draft Mode. In the Print dialog set printing quality to good or best.
