- A Personal Note About Intercede:
-
- When I write software and need to come up with names, I try to think of how the
- function of the software relates to something about God. Including God in what
- I do is part of my relationship with him, and it honors him (I hope).
-
- The function of Intercede is to go into a Generic Export file and change a few
- things so the origin of messages is in the desired zone. I saw a similarity to
- my responsibility to pray for people who need God, and the fact that the Holy
- Spirit is able to help "change a few things" so that each of us can be in a
- good relationship with God - "in the desired zone", so to speak.
-
- My family and I pray for you - both saved and unsaved people. We know that
- there is a battle for the souls of men, and we know that our prayers have an
- impact on that war. We believe that the Holy Spirit gives the encouragement,
- strength, and hope to become and maintain a godly Christian life. And I hope
- that you find good use in this software and that when you're up late at night
- (working on your BBS <g>) this work of mine will remind you to get to know
- our creator a little better in prayer.

- How to use Intercede:
-
- Setup is very simple. Place the application in the same folder as the rest of
- the Tabby applications. Create a text file in your Tabby folder called
- "OriginSwap.List". In it, place an echo area name seperated by a TAB from the
- Zone:Net/Node info that should be associated with all messages in that echo,
- coming from your BBS. See my sample OriginSwap.List to get the idea.
-
- Next, insert the name "Intercede" in your Tabby Maint "event" string, and in
- your Tabby Robot string. You may have a setup stranger than mine <g>, so as a
- rule, always place Intercede right after TabbyNet SendNews.
-
- When Intercede runs, it looks for the origin line of each message leaving your
- system AND (!!!) all the nodes and points connected to your system. In
- appearance, it makes your BBS a "gateway" to other zones. Example: I par-
- ticipate in a network called "ICDMnet" (International Christian Discipleship
- Ministries) whose coordinator insists on all participants having an origin line
- with the proper zone 77 origin. Until now, I've had to make the echoes
- "read only", or go through an IBM system that will gate the messages for me.
- With Intercede, this is no longer necessary, because my FidoNet address is
- replaced with my ICDMnet address on every echo message I configure in the
- OriginSwap.List.

- Shareware Fee:
-
- Intercede is only $5. With your feedback and various improvements, it can be
- an even better tool. Evaluate it for 2 weeks, then send your shareware payment
