Rescue! 2.0 is the latest version of the multi-window, color-capable action adventure written by Tom Spreen and inspired by the Star Trek: The Next Generation‚Ñ¢ universe! It's a fast-action rescue mission set in space which requires both strategy and arcade-style reactions.
This version is a major upgrade with many changes and improvements. (Note that full on-line help is available if you're not familiar with one of the earlier versions.)

Rescue! is based on the old Star Trek game where the Enterprise is out to save the colonists and destroy the enemies. This is where the similarity ends. Actually in the game Trek all you have to do is destroy the enemies. Rescue! goes beyond the others with a better interface and more features and options. If you want to play any of the games based on the Trek series Rescue! is where you should start. The game can be very difficult at higher levels. You start the game by trying to rescue people from the colonies before they are killed by the enemy. At the Cadet or lieutenant levels this can be quite easy. After you rescue the people from the different outposts you may continue and kill off the enemy. At higher levels these tasks can be difficult as you must ward off the enemy while attempting the rescue. You must plan out how you are going to proceed so that no one is killed and yet you do not run out of energy. Version 2.0.3 of Rescue has overcome many different problems while adding many different features. While I thought earlier versions were good, this release will renew your interest for many hours.
