  119. This international group of Macintosh virus experts, programmers and
  120.  
  121. enthusiasts helped design and test Disinfectant, edit the manual, locate
  122.  
  123. copies of the viruses for testing, and analyze the viruses. I wrote all the
  124.  
  125. code, but I could not have written the application without their help.

  129. Disinfectant is an example of cooperative software development over the
  130.  
  131. Internet. I send development and beta releases and technical design notes
  132.  
  133. to the working group and they reply with error reports, suggestions, etc.

  135. This involves the exchange of many thousands of electronic mail
  136.  
  137. messages. The result is an application which is much better than any one
  138.  
  139. of us could have produced individually.

  143. Since the initial release of Disinfectant, many hundreds of people have
  144.  
  145. supplied error reports, comments, and suggestions for features. The
  146.  
  147. application has in many ways become a community project. The author
  148.
