This my update of Mark Zimmerman's BookBuilder stack (released originally in 1992).
HyperScribe reads any TEXT file and converts it to a convenient HyperCard book format. It features bookmarking and referencing capabilities, as well as online help.
HyperScribe is public domain; feel free to alter it to suit your needs. If you distribute a HyperScribe Book, you'll probably want to delete the "New Book" and "Create a Book" buttons, and modify the "Setup" card.
Known problems:
• Text saved with line breaks:
BookBuilder often converts text saved with line breaks to a series of two-line paragraphs. The easiest solution is to set the background field "body" to a smaller font a/o textsize (for example Geneva 10)
• BookBuilder is unable to convert a text file in the unlikely event that it contains a string of >30000 characters without a <return>. One method of converting such a file is included in the Create a Book button script; I'm sure there's an easy way to solve the problem within the mouseUp script though...
