Apparitions are a form of ghost. These are ghosts that have lived an extremely long time in their immaterial form. Apparitions are visible but transparent. In normal conditions, give all individuals trying to hit an apparition a -2 modifier to their strikeroll. They are extremely powerful magically. All apparitions will have at least 7 levels of magic experience with some having as many as 10 to 15. They can attack physically, but prefer to attack by other means. If an apparition's spirit comes into contact with the spirit of any mortal being, that mortal must pass a standard constitution check or die immediately. After death, the new spirit will then begin to fight, naked, weaponless and immaterial, with the apparition. If the new spirit loses the battle, he no longer exists on any sphere. Resurrection is no longer possible. In battle, apparitions will attempt to use spells to hold or slow victims. Once held, the apparition will simply try to occupy the same space as the victim. At the beginning of each of the victim's turns, he must roll this constitution check. If he passes this check three times, that apparition has no power over the spirit of the victim. From that point on the apparition will simply leave or select a different victim.
As with all other ghosts, strictly material objects do no damage to apparitions. Weaponry that has at least a +3 magical strikeroll modifier will do normal damage to them. Spells will do their normal amounts of damage if the force causing the damage is magical (i.e. a rock telekinetically thrown at an apparition will do no damage.) All ghosts can function well at anytime of day in any climate.
Reality
(1400-1450)
An apparition is anything that has a ghostlike look to it. This includes ghosts. Therefore, many times ghosts are also called apparitions. But, if an individual sees something that has a ghostlike appearance to it, it may not necessarily be a ghost. It could just be an illusion or mirage.
