Mermen are a species of humanoid that live in the water. They cannot breath air as humans do. Instead they have gills as fish do. Mermen society is just as complex and large as human society. They have governments, kingdoms and wars. Because they are water bound and humans are land bound, these two species usually do not interact much. But, magic exists there as well as here, and different magical methods exist for humans to visit there, and for them to visit here.

Mermen are mythological creatures that are men with the tails of fish. They are also intelligent. The folklore may have come from humans seeing seals thinking that they were humans.
