Also known as island nymphs, sirens are a species of winged humanoid that live on islands in oceans and seas. The song of a siren is magical and hypnotizing. If an individual hears the song of a siren, they have to pass a standard willpower check. If they fail the check, they can do nothing but try to get closer to the music. This check should be preformed each minute that an individual hears the song. Sirens can sing this song so that men passing the near island (within 300 yards) in boats can hear. Sailors that hear this song and fail their check guide their boat toward the music. Usually this results in a shipwreck. If it is obvious that the sailor are fishermen, the sirens will sing.
Sirens, like all other nymphs, are the protectors and the caretakers of nature. If seen, sirens will appear as beautiful young women with wings. They have many innate magical powers. These are Hypnotism, Charm, Friendship, Illusion, Invisibility, Inaudibility, Light, Dark, Confusion, Mind Reading, Contact, Summon, Teleport and many other spells of a more useful nature (mostly concerned with gardening and minor weather alteration).
Sirens are not aggressive by nature. They will observe an individual to find out his intents. If needed, they will use their mind reading ability to be certain. Once the individual's intents have been discovered, the siren will react accordingly. Sirens do not attack physically. Instead they will summon the local wildlife to help. All beasts near the home of a siren will be on friendly terms with her.
