Due to lack of interest, support for the "musical instrument" version of TableCloths has been discontinued so that I can concentrate on what I originally set out to do...create the most comprehensive set of tartan-based desktop patterns. What I have done is created the ONLY one...
AND NOW...
TableCloths 3.0
Customization is a big factor when it comes to the Macintosh, and customization defined is the ability to make something look how YOU want it to. While downloading other peoples’ software allows you to come close to waht you think your Mac should ultimately look like, it still is never really exactly what you had in mind.
TableCloths 3.0 is now dedicated exclusively to tartans and, for that matter, all things Scottish for your Mac's desktop (what else should go on the desktop of a machine named "Macintosh") and is now available for ONLY $5. Think that's great? There’s still more...
With the growth of the Internet, so grows the popularity of software “subscriptions.” With such a subscription, files are compressed and distributed regularly via e-mail enclosure. Again, TableCloths breaks new ground by becoming one of the first INDEFINITE software subscriptions available, with updates, editions, and add-ons coming, via e-mail, twice a year.
The ultimate level of customizaton would be (theoretically) the ability to have YOUR pictures be made into desktop patterns, and to be able to select the patterns sent to your e-mail address YOURSELF. TableCloths transforms theory into reality. Registered users are allotted one customization per year, meaning that, if you have a picture in ANY format (so long as it’s already on your computer) that you’d like to have tiled across your desktop, e-mail it as an enclosure to mfiske@kagi.com. Or if you’d like to select what comes in your next TableCloths “issue,” including desktop patterns or custom alert sounds to go with a pattern you already have, e-mail me at the same address, and let me know what you’d like. You’ll receive your CUSTOM software two to three weeks later.
With your initial subscription to TableCloths, you'll receive an e-mail enclosure containing THE authentic "MacIntosh" desktop pattern that Mac's around the world have been waiting since 1984 to get. You'll also get a small collection of "bagpipe-based" alert-sounds. Just drag them into your System suitcase, and you'll swear your Mac is smiling at you...and why shouldn't it? Your Mac's never felt more "at home..."
On top of all these improvements, you may have noticed the “@kagi.com” in my e-mail address above. This means (that’s right) that ALL of my shareware, including TableCloths, is registerable using Kagi’s shareware payment services. Double-click on Kagi’s “Register” application (which is included), fill in the appropriate information, and await an e-mail confirmation from both Kagi and I. For $5, you get everything I’ve talked about above.
