Transcription: I Nelson Odessa Mandela do hereby serve to be faithful to the Republic of South Africa. It has been a long journey for Nelson Mandela. Trained as a lawyer, Mandela helped found the ANC, the African National Congress in 1944. He dedicated himself to fight against apartheid in South Africa. Imprisoned for 27 years his role in the military wing of the ANC, Mandela emerged in 1990 a hero to his people. He became the first black president of South Africa, a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize and a world leader in the fight for justice and human dignity.
