The high-performance AppleCD Multimedia Kit for Macintosh computers offers all the components you need to advance your Macintosh into the CD-ROM and multimedia revolution. This multimedia kit gives you access to the wealth of business resources, educational programs, reference libraries, software, databases, clip art, and games available on CD-ROM. It comes complete with an AppleCD 300 external CD-ROM drive, AppleDesign Powered Speakers, all necessary cables and software, and up to five CD-ROM titles.
The AppleCD 300 external CD-ROM drive spins at twice the speed of ordinary CD-ROM drives to give you faster access to the tremendous amount of information stored on CD-ROM discs and to provide smoother playback of your QuickTime movies, videos, and animation. The AppleCD 300 also lets you read multisession Kodak PhotoCD discs and play standard audio CDs. You can cut and paste music, sound, animation, photographs, and even movies into your favorite word-processing, presentation, and graphics applications.
AppleDesign Powered Speakers equip your computer with CD-quality, near-field stereo output. Using controlled sound dispersion, they provide excellent stereo separation and sound quality while maintaining a private listening environment. The transducer, tuned-port design, and active equalization allow the speakers to be small and yet offer excellent frequency response. Their built-in noise-reduction circuitry provides clear sound, and each speaker is magnetically shielded for use near computer displays and peripheral devices.
The Apple Multimedia Starter CD takes the user on an interactive exploration of CD-ROM and multimedia including samples from around the world of education, business, and home uses for multimedia and “galleries” of clip-art, photos, QuickTime movies, sound/music and more.
Each kit includes Compton’s Multimedia Encyclopedia, Apple Multimedia Starter CD, and your choice of additional free CD-ROM titles from a menu of over 30 titles carefully selected for value and quality.
