  10. INSTALLATION NOTES
  11.  
  12. The minimum hardware requirement is a computer with a 386 processor
  13. capable of running Windows 3.1x.  
  14.  
  15. 4mg of RAM is recommended - 8mg in the higher screen
  16. modes  of 1024 x 768 plus.
  17.  
  18. A minimum of 1.5Mb free hard disk space is required.
  19.  
  20. The program is designed to make the most effective use of Windows and
  21. requires as much free memory as  possible.
  22.  
  23. As a rule of thumb:
  24.  
  25. 4mg machines: - 640 x 480  or 800 x 600 mode depending on video memory 
  26.                 and swap file setting.
  27.  
  28. 8mg machines: - Feel free and do as you will.
  29.  
  30. INSTALLING THE PROGRAM
  31.  
  32.     1. Insert your program disk into drive A:
  33.  
  34.     2. Select the RUN option from Program Manager's FILE menu.
  35.  
  36.     3. Type A:\INSTALL Enter the source and destination paths
  37.        at the next prompt and press the OK button to copy the files.
  38.  
  39.     4. When the program files have been copied to your hard drive the 
  40.         installation program will give you the option to automatically
  41.        install the Astro22 Icons into a Custom Windows Group on your
  42.        desktop - Recommended.
  43.  
  44. In the unlikely event of an installation problem:
  45.  
  46.    1. Exit Windows.
  47.  
  48.    2. Reboot your computer.
  49.  
  50.    3. Return to Windows and try the install procedure once again.
  51.  
  52.    4. If this fails call technical support on the above telephone number.

  54. PROGRAM INSTRUCTIONS
  55.  
  56. Before you run the program select the Read Me First icon and double-click 
  57. to view the text document. Any important changes or updates will be listed.
  58.  
  59. Extensive documentation is included with Astro22: A full manual in Window's 
  60. Write format is accessed form the program group (Not shareware copies)
  61. by a double-click on the Astro22 Manual icon. The document has fifty seven
  62. pages and is printer ready in A4 paper size. An on-line context sensitive
  63. help file is also included with the program. This is accessed from the 
  64. Astro22 Help drop down menu bar and gives immediate on-line information
  65. for all aspects of the program.

  67. For first time users a Getting Started Tutorial is provided and this should 
  68. be regarded as an important first step before exploring any of the more 
  69. advanced features of the program.

  72. Help drop down menu bar.
