  1. SOFTWARE LICENCE AND WARRANTY INFORMATION

  4. Software License
  5.  
  6. Button  Manager is not and has never been public domain software,
  7. nor  is  it  free software.  It is Copyright (c) by  AKC  Applied
  8. Knowledge Corporation, with All Rights Reserved world-wide.
  9.  
  10. Non-licensed  users are granted a limited license to  use  Button
  11. Manager  on  a 30-day trial basis for the purpose of  determining
  12. whether  Button  Manager is suitable for their needs.   Continued
  13. use  of  Button  Manager beyond the initial 30-day  trial  period
  14. requires  registration.  The use of unlicensed copies  of  Button
  15. Manager  by any person, business, corporation, government  agency
  16. or any other entity is strictly prohibited.

  18. Paying the registration fee will license one copy for use on  any
  19. one  computer at any one time.  You must treat this software just
  20. like  a  book.  An example is that the licensed software  may  be
  21. used  by  any number of people and may be freely moved  from  one
  22. computer  location to another, so long as there is no possibility
  23. of  it  being  used  at one location while  it's  being  used  at
  24. another. Just as a book cannot be read by two different people at
  25. the same time.

  27. You may not modify the Button Manager executable file in any way,
  28. including   but   not   limited   to  translating,   decompiling,
  29. disassembling,  or  otherwise reverse  engineering  the  program.
  30. Furthermore, none of the supporting files may be modified in  any
  31. manner.

  33. A  limited  license  is  granted to copy  and  distribute  Button
  34. Manager  only for the trial use of others, subject to  the  above
  35. limitations, and also the following:

  37. 1.   Button  Manager must be copied in unmodified form,  complete
  38.      with  all the files identified in the Required files section
  39.      of the Help File (and in the README.TXT file).
  40.  
  41. 2.   The  Button Manager User and Registration Identifiers, which
  42.      are  assigned when this product is registered,  may  not  be
  43.      distributed.
  44.  
  45. 3.   The  person or entity distributing the product may not claim
  46.      to own it.
  47.  
  48. 4.   No  fee,  charge, or other compensation may be requested  or
  49.      accepted  to distribute Button Manager, except as authorized
  50.      below:

  52.      BBSs,   User   Groups,  Mail-Order  Disk   Vendors,   CD-ROM
  53.      publishers, and BBS File-Distribution Networks may charge  a
  54.      fee  to  distribute Button Manager, assuming they provide  a
  55.      complete and unaltered copy of the product, it is clear that
  56.      the  product is Shareware, and they do not claim to own  the
  57.      product.

  59.      Mail-Order  Disk Vendors and CD-ROM publishers  MUST  inform
  60.      AKC Applied Knowledge Corporation that they will be carrying
  61.      the  product prior to publication, so that they can be  kept
  62.      up-to-date with the latest version of Button Manager.  BBSs,
  63.      User  Groups, and BBS Distribution Networks MAY contact  AKC
  64.      if  they  want to be kept up-to-date with the latest version
  65.      of Button Manager.

  67. 5.   AKC  Applied  Knowledge Corporation reserves  the  right  to
  68.      revoke  any  permission granted here, by  notifying  you  in
  69.      writing.

  72. Warranty Information

  74. "BUTTON  MANAGER" (HEREAFTER REFERRED TO AS "SOFTWARE")  AND  THE
  75. ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTATION IS PROVIDED AS IS WITHOUT WARRANTY  OF
  76. ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO
  77. IMPLIED   WARRANTIES  OF  MERCHANTABILITY  AND  FITNESS   FOR   A
  78. PARTICULAR PURPOSE.  TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY  LAW,  IN
  79. NO  EVENT WILL AKC APPLIED KNOWLEDGE CORPORATION OR ITS SUPPLIERS
  80. BE  LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT,
  81. INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS,  OR  SPECIAL
  82. DAMAGES,  EVEN  IF  AKC  APPLIED KNOWLEDGE CORPORATION  HAD  BEEN
  83. ADVISED  OF  THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.  IN ANY  CASE,  AKC
  84. APPLIED  KNOWLEDGE  CORPORATION'S  ENTIRE  LIABILITY  UNDER   ANY
  85. PROVISION  OF  THIS  AGREEMENT SHALL BE  LIMITED  TO  THE  AMOUNT
  86. ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU FOR THE SOFTWARE.

  88. USE  OF  THIS  PRODUCT  FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIME  CONSTITUTES  YOUR
  89. ACCEPTANCE OF THIS AGREEMENT AND SUBJECTS YOU TO ITS CONTENTS.
