HELP
----
The application supports INTERACTIVE HELP,
so the best way of using it is to run
SERCgraph, run !Help, and point at anything
that takes your interest.
A window will appear explaining the function
or purpose of the object, icon, window etc.
What SERCgraph does
-------------------
The point of !SERCgraph is to help you find a
file you want based on reference words. Each
file has several words, so you just need to
find one (or more) of them. Once a file has
been found, you may view it in an appropriate
program like Draw. For info on the FOUND
window, Technical issues and the programmer
see the ReadMe file 'FrontEnd2. Read on -->
SEARCH window
-----------------
When you load the program an icon appears on
the icon bar, and a SEARCH window appears on
screen. Clicking on the icon reopens the search
window. Please type your choice of word, then
press RETURN. If any files match the word, a
list will appear in the FOUND window. This is
described in detail in 'FrontEnd2'.
The directory path leading to each file will be
searched along with the special index words.
Therefore if you chose a word which correspond-
ed to a directory name all files within that
directory will be displayed.
If you want the SEARCH window to be bigger/
smaller, click on the toggle size icon at the
right hand end of the title bar.
This will make the window big enough to see the
text entry box, the OK box, and a bit more.
This could be used for keeping the window open
while work is done in Draw, using the CD only
when required.
If you require more help, click on the 'Help'
area to load this file in to Edit or whatever.
Multi-Word searches
-------------------
If you want to search for a number of words
together (all of them used in reference to a
single file), type in all the words separated
by one space each. A logical AND search will be
done on these e.g. type in 'temperature sensor'
to find exactly that. Type in 'temperature' or
'sensor' by themselves to find other files
about temperature or other sensors.
Keyword searches
-----------------
If you know the beginning of a word but not the
end, or the end but not the beginning, type
what you know and then put a star (*) for the
unknown bit. This means 'anything'. A search
will be done to show you all the words which
start like that. You can then click on one, and
do a proper file search with that word.
Exclusion by file type
----------------------
If you do not wish to search for certain file
types, you may excluded them by clicking on the
large file icons in the search window. Thus if
you only want DXF files, you may turn off
Drawfiles, Sprites, Applications and Data
files. If you then click OK, it will search for
files matching the words, whose type is as you
have selected (now see FrontEnd2 for more info)
