ImageBank contains images compressed using 'state-of-the-art'
JPEG (Joint Photographics Experts Group) technique. This allows
10 Megabytes of colour scans to be squeezed onto an 800K floppy.
All the images in the ImageBank archive are stored in 24 bit
format, they are not simply sprites.
ImageBank will only work with Risc OS 3.10.
To use:
Double click on ImageBank to load it onto the icon bar. Click on
the ImageBank icon on the icon bar to open a display of the
compressed images. Ensure you are in a 256 colour screen mode
(mode 28 preferably). Double click on any images you fancy
and drop the sprite into Paint etc. Decompression will take
several seconds because of the enormous processing involved in the
JPEG process. You can get more info by reading the text file
within the ImageBank directory, or you can get interactive help
using !Help application.
This version of ImageBank is free. You may distribute this version
to others providing no charge is made.
This version of ImageBank is cut-down so that extra images cannot
be added and the 24 bit files cannot be saved out. We do not provide
support for this version or bug-fixes and new versions may or may
not be provided.
We sell a complete version of ImageBank which allows your own
images to be added and 24 bit Clear files to be saved. This version
is supported by us including free updates. It still costs only £25.
