  14.     modifications, so make sure your submission is final.

  17.     ensure that no one else will have access to your applet submission,
  18.     do not share the Code with anyone.

  20.   * DO NOT LOSE THIS E-MAIL! Make a backup copy for your eventual
  21.     submission instruction and include with your *.tar file.

  23.   * You will be notified by snail-mail if you are one of the first 1,000
  24.     registrants or first 1,000 applet submission entries that you have won a
  25.     Java T-shirt or Java mug.

  53.                          SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
  54. ============================================================================

  56. Submissions will be accepted via anonymous ftp from 1/8/96 through 3/31/96.
  57. It is important that you follow the directions below or your submission will
  58. not be accepted.
  59.  
  60.   Save a copy of this mail to a file called 'sub_form'.  You will be
  61.   required to include a copy in your submission archive, as noted below.
  62.  
  63.   Use 'tar' to archive your entire Java application.  Your tar file should
  64.   be given the eight character ID name listed above.  Any other name will not
  65.   get filed correctly with your registration entry and therefore will not be
  66.   accepted.
  67.  
  68.   The tar file will include:
  69.  
  70.     * All images, sounds, source code (*.java) and compiled classes
  71.       (*.classes) and a local html page with the embedded applet.
  72.  
  73.     * Everything necessary to run the applet locally by the judges is
  74.       required for entry. If the applet is not ready to run, it will not
  75.       be considered.
  76.  
  77.     * If the applet requires the Internet for any kind of the data feed
  78.       and the data feed is not available to us at the time of
  79.       judging, ensure that you can simulate that data feed locally from
  80.       a file. That file should be included as part of the submittal.

  82.     * A copy of this mail named 'sub_form'.
  83.  
  84.     * A 'README' file if necessary.
  85.  
  86.   Login using Anonymous FTP to javacontest.sun.com.  Use the name
  87.   'anonymous' and enter your e-mail address for the password.  Then
  88.   place your tar file in the /incoming directory.
