  59. This software has been tested on several amigas without any
  60. problems.But NO software can be perfect (murphy...),so you use
  61. it for your own risk.I will take no resposebilety for any damage
  62. caused by the use of this program.(eg. killed trackers,crashed
  63. amigas...
  64. This software is Freeware.You can do anything with it,
  65. exept altering any of the files.
  66. PT_Prefs was written with help of the AMIPS-Extension by
  67. 'The Software Society'.Pretty good extension,but the Software
  68. Society has very bad support.Dont buy it!

  73. This little tool lets you replace the picture,pointer and font of
  74. most Protrackers,Soundtrackers,Noisetrackers,Startrekkers with
  75. your own ones.
  76. It converts the stuff that your trackers uses to standart IFF
  77. pictures,which can be edited by your favourite painting program.
  78. If the pictures fit your personal taste,you can put them back
  79. into the tracker.The next time you start that program,it will
  80. (hopefully) use that stuff that has been patched in.

  90. This is  a step-by-step quick course in how to use PT_Prefs.
  91. 1.Make a copy of your tracker disk,if you own no Harddisk,or just
  92.   duplicate your tracker executable.Then set the "Replace old"
  93.   cyclegadget in the PT_Prefs @{"main window" LINK "wind"} to "Don't!".
  94.   -OR-
  95.   Set the "Replace old" cyclegadget ind the PT_Prefs @{"main window" LINK "wind"}
  96.   to "as .bak".Doing so,the tracker executeable will always be copied to
  97.   an backup-file before it will be modified that is called like the normal
  98.    executeable,but with appended letters ".bak".
  99. 2.Select the "Settings" button.
  100. 3.Fill the integergadgets with @{"offsetcodes" LINK "codes"} that fit
  101.   to the tracker version you use. (The version has to be EXACTLY
  102.   the same,our your tracker may crash after the patch!)
  103. 4.Click on the fileselectorbutton (right from the pt path stringgadget)
  104.   and select the tracker executeable,you want to modify.
  105.   Or enter the name directly in the stringgadget,cause in most cases
  106.   the tracker can be found in "st-00:pt4.50" or something.
  107. 5.If you want to use these settings permanently click on SAVE.
  108.   (they will be saved into envarc.) After that click on USE.
  109. 6.Click on SCREEN,POINTER and/or FONT in the @{"RIP-section" LINK "wind"} (left!).
  110.   The screen/pointer/font of your tracker will be ripped out and
  111.   be converted to a normal IFF picture.After that a filerequester asks
  112.   you for the filename of the picture(s).
  113. 7.Modify the pictures you saved before with your favourite paint program,
  114.   and save them.
  115. 8.Click on SCREEN,POINTER and/or FONT in the @{"PLACE-section" LINK "wind"} (right!).
  116.   A filereqester will ask you for the picture you've modified.
  117.   The picture will be reconverted to binary and directly patched into
  118.   your tracker executable.
  119. 9.Start the tracker you've selected.
  120.  -If you face a guru meditation or you only see weird stuff,
  121.   you've used the wrong parameters or your tracker is crunched.
  122.   (At this point,you will damn yourself if you've made no copy!)
  123.  -If NOT you will face an totally new looking tracker. (Cowabunga!)
