  1. Short: Symbol fonts, in .pfb format
  2.  
  3. This is a collection of fonts in Adobe Postscript (.pfb) format.  The Adobe
  4. font format is superior to the Compugraphic Intellifont format, and of this
  5. collection, not all fonts exist as Compugraphic equivalents.  So, if
  6. possible, use the Adobe version.  Programs like PageStream, FinalWriter and
  7. TypeSmith directly understand Adobe fonts (load the .pfb files), and using
  8. util/libs/type1beta9.lha (found on Aminet Set 2 Disk b) you can use
  9. Postscript fonts in any program that understands Amiga fonts, because they 
  10. are converted on the fly.

  12. All fonts in this collection have hints. These are instructions how to
  13. make the fonts look good at low resolutions. However not all programs
  14. make use of them.

  16. In the archive pix/illu/AminetPFonts.lha you find a set of images 
  17. displaying all fonts of the whole font collection. Also, each archives
  18. contains an archive index image and an image for each font.
