Node Tracker ver 0.01
for RemoteAccess 2.0x
Freeware from Martin Woods
1:351/233.1
What it is:
Node Tracker will read the USERON.BBS and reports Who is on what
Node and what they are doing.a [N]ext,[P]rev, and [Q]uit button
allow checking each node out in turn.
How to use it:
Simply run it from any directory and Node Tracker will get the
enviroment variable for RA,if you don't have something like
SET RA=C:\RA in your autoexec.bat then Node Tracker will not work.
Where to use it:
Node Tracker can be run from the Dos prompt, shelled from RA, run in
a Desqview window,a OS/2 Dos box,or Windows.
Note: it is *not* advised you run this minimized in windows or as a
background task in DV or OS/2 but to just open it up to see what is
going on and shut it down again,so as to not tie up USERON.BBS.
Why use it:
It's a quick way for the sysop to click an icon or a keypress to see
what is going on at a glance.
No adds just info.
Status:
Node Tracker is Freeware, use at your own risk, the only guarantee is
it takes up space. It has been tested on various machines running various
versions of RA and by all reports seems to function as claimed.
Further Developement:
In the works is Node Reporter which will do the same for the user by
generating Ansi/Ascii screens that can be displayed with information
on all node activity whether it's another user online or a mail event
taking place.
Aknowledgements:
Much Thanks to Rand Nowell for debugging my code and insight into the
inner workings of RA. (who was that masked man 8-)
