The Blue Wave Mail Door/Maximus
v3.01
INSTALLATION/UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS
**** This version of The Blue Wave Mail Door has been shipped with a
file called BWDOOR.USE. This is a text file tutorial that can be
put online for users to download. A full explanation of the use of
The Blue Wave Mail Door is contained within this file, along with
tips, tricks, and hints on effective usage.
NEW INSTALLATIONS
-----------------
The procedure for new installations is outlined in BWMAIL.DOC, enclosed
with this archive.
UPGRADING FROM V3.00 to V3.01
-----------------------------
If you have already installed v3.00 of The Blue Wave Offline Mail Door
for Maximus, installation is a snap. Simply copy the following files
from BWMAIL.ZIP into your current door directory:
BWMAIL.EXE
BWMAIL.OVR
BWUTILS.EXE
Please note that v3.01 of the mail door allows you to give extended
descriptions to your ARCHIVERS through the BWUTILS->Archiver
Configuration Editor. Due to the many requests for a way to distinguish
between incompatible versions of the same archiver type, the functionality
was added for this bug-fix upgrade. Nothing will go wrong if you do not
give your archivers an extended description, but it wouldn't hurt to do
it, either :-).
UPGRADING FROM V2.00 to V3.01
-----------------------------
If you have installed The Blue Wave Mail Door for Maximus v2.00, you must
run the conversion program 200to301.EXE from your main BLUEWAVE
directory. The BWMAIL.PRM file structures have changed since the v2.00
public release.
After running the conversion program, be sure to copy the entire contents
of BWMAIL.ZIP into your BLUEWAVE directory. There are no files contained
within that archive that should not be replaced. New help screens and
.EXE files are enclosed. You can delete the file 200to300.EXE after you
have executed the conversion program.
After conversion, you may also delete BWDUPES.DAT. The mail door no
longer uses this file to track duplicate messages. A new file called
BWDUPES.IDX will be created to handle duplicate messages.
Please read the WHATSNEW.301 file to become familiar with all of the new
features and functions in The Blue Wave Mail Door. You will need to
carefully examine the fields with the BWUTILS setup program to verify
that all new options are set to your liking.
Good Luck!
