Introducing FrontDoor 2.20..
This is a list of most new and enhanced features between version 2.10
and version 2.20.
NOTE

GLOBAL
* Support for extended baudrates, including 16800, 57600, 64000,
76800, and 115200 BPS.
* Improved performance under OS/2 2.x DOS sessions.
* Support for 386/486 memory managers which disable the EMS page-
frame.
* Support for TZUTC environment variable for insertion into
messages created locally (Editor) and during EMSI handshakes
(Mailer).
MAILER
* Improved routing code. Support for any nodelist flag, including
U-type flags.
* Support for any nodelist flag in the Modem manager data.
* Internal support for handling of fax transmissions when used in
conjunction with a ZyXEL U-1496 series modem.
* Support for configurable CONNECT FAX message with immediate exit
to allow the user to load a program to handle the fax
transmission.
* The ability to force a system to receive a mark in the undialable
manager after one failed outbound call.
* Support for FDALIVE.n to indicate that the Mailer is loaded.
* Support for an external file request processor to interface the
Mailer with file databases such as those used by various BBS
software.
* Extended logging to aid in trouble-shooting session failures.
* Support for /FORCECOMMIT (and FDOPT=FORCECOMMIT) which forces the
Mailer to flush all written data to disk while receiving files.
This ensures maximum data integrity in the case of a power
failure during mail sessions.
* The ability to disable support for RESYNC during SEAlink transfers
has been added.
* Three new system-level macros, $LOGFILE$, $ROUTEFD$, and $TASK$ to
simplify multi-line operation and configuration.
* The ability to use one SETUP.FD configuration file in a multi-
line environment and still maintain separate modem configurations.
* Support for the ^aFLAGS FPU (Force PickUp) option which forces the
Mailer to call the destination system until a successful end-of-
session signal is received.
* Files being received are now opened in ReadWrite/DenyAll mode to
protect possible mail archives from being processed before having
been received completely.
* Support for a custom connect message with accompanying baudrate
and errorlevel.
* Support to log the CALLER*ID information following the RING
signal.
* Support to allow swapping to be enabled/disabled for specific
function keys and the external request processor.
* Logging of the remote system's location is now possible during
EMSI handshakes.
* Zmodem receiver has been improved to be more tolerant to data
time-out situations.
* The task number of the Mailer is now added and displayed while
displaying mail history.
* Dynamic CPS throughput calculation and ETA (estimated remaining
time for transfer) during file transfers.
* The ability to force the Mailer to stop searching on the first
match of a file request has been added.
* Improved call progress details including nodelist flags of the
remote system.
* New Script commands:
LOG <Symbol> <Data>
Forces <Data> with <Symbol> to be added to the log file.
LINESPEED <Baudrate>
Allows the current DTE rate otherwise used as the session
speed to be overridden.
@systemnum (macro)
Expands to the called system's telephone number as the mailer
would have dialed it should the connection have been direct.
* Support for alternate file request lists and alias lists during
secure sessions.
* Support for alternate inbound files directory during secure
sessions.
* Support for /AUTOVIDEO (and FDOPT=AUTOVIDEO) to override the
current setting in SETUP.FD.
* "DIALING" and "RRING" messages sent by some modems are now
supported.
* Support for /NOFCB (and FDOPT=NOFCB) prevents FCB calls from
being used to delete temporary files.
* Support for manual answer on a per-event basis as opposed to a
fixed time of day.
* Support for FDFREEZE.ALL semaphore to force all active Mailers
to freeze.
* Support for /SESSONDCD and FDOPT=SESSONDCD which forces the
Mailer to process an inbound call as soon as the DCD (carrier)
signal goes high.
* Support for <06H>FDXIT<Task>.<ErrLev> in the inter-process comm-
unications area (ICA) has been reinstated.
* The event behavior "Hold file attaches" has been added.
* Improved support for FDFREEZE and FDRENUM.
* Support for the SEAlink protocol during EMSI sessions.
* Support for a Mailer created semaphore to indicate a mail exit
without leaving the Mailer. This improves performance in multi-
tasking and LAN environments.
EDITOR
* Support to automatically (or manually) view received fax messages
via ZyXEL's ZFAX or similar utility has been added.
* Support to remove attached fax image automatically when the fax
cover message is removed.
* Support for FMALIVE.n to indicate that the Editor is loaded.
* Improved CC (carbon copy) and XC (cross posting) functions.
* Support for new mail semaphores (new NetMail, new Conference Mail,
and new Local Mail) to allow more flexibility when interfacing to
external mail processors such as TosScan.
* Six new macros:
~D Original recipient (username)
~O Original author (username)
~A Original subject
~C Original date
~J Original origin address
~K Original destination address
* Support for FMFREEZE.n and FMFREEZE.ALL to freeze Editor.
* Automatically checks if the limits of a HMB (Hudson Message Base)
will be exceeded when saving a message to avoid damaging the files.
* Support for FSC-35 (^AREPLYADDR and ^AREPLYTO) improves handling
of replies to gated NetMail and conference mail.
* <Ctrl-Z> (No status) in the message Status menu can now restore the
previous message status.
* Support for /AUTOVIDEO (and FDOPT=AUTOVIDEO) to override the
current setting in SETUP.FD.
* Support for /MSGSURVEY (and FDOPT=MSGSURVEY) to force the Editor
into Message Survey mode (i.e. <Alt-F9>) immediately when loaded.
* Support for /FOLDER (and FDOPT=FOLDER) to force the Editor into the
Folder list (<Alt-F>) immediately when loaded.
* Support for /FOLDERSCAN (and FDOPT=FOLDERSCAN) to force the Editor
into the Folder list (<Ctrl-F>) immediately when loaded.
* Support for up to 65535 user lastread pointers for HMB-style
folders.
* Support for setting the user's name, number, and lastread slot from
the DOS environment improves ease of use in multi-user
environments.
* Support to bypass specific folders during New Mail check when the
folder scan, <Ctrl-F>, function is invoked.
* Support to force hard carriage returns (<CR>) to be inserted into
locally written messages for specific folders.
* Support for up to 400 folders.
TERMINAL
* Support for FDALIVE.n to indicate that the Mailer (Terminal) is
loaded.
* A password field has been added to the Terminal phone directory
entries to allow overriding of the currently active IEMSI password.
This password can also be transmitted via the ~P Terminal macro.
* Improved Terminal emulation protocols.
* Support for any nodelist flag in the Modem manager data.
* Support for FDINTERM.n which is created when the Terminal is
invoked.
* Support for /NORAWEXTD which translates the extended key codes,
generated by gray keys on extended keyboards, into normal key codes.
FDNC
* Support for extended baudrates and some new nodelist flags in node-
list manager.
* Support for "Server" keyword (treated identical to "Boss") in
compiled nodelists.
FDSETUP
* Support for /NODUPBCK to disable duplicate board detection feature.
* Supporting for writing SETUP.FD without leaving FDSETUP for multi-
tasker environments.
* Support for COM port values between one and 32.
* Support for up to 400 folders.
* Switch to force monochrome/BW color mode in FDSETUP without using
command-line switches.
