IMPORTANT UPGRADE INFORMATION:
==============================
Although there's no special conversion of config files necessary
for FMail 1.02 when upgrading from FMail 0.98/0.98a/1.0g, you should
check the BBS program option in FSetup (Miscellaneous, General Options).
NEW FEATURES IN FMAIL 1.02
==========================
FMail:
- Fixed "arg list too long" problem with the DPMI version.
There's now a file called FMLX_ARC.EXE include, which should be placed
in the same directory as FMAILX.EXE. It assists in spawning the
archiver programs.
- Fixed "Can't find archiver" problem of the DPMI version
- Fixed AKA-matching bug
- Fixed update MSGINFO.BBS when sending Kill/sent netmail from Hudson
- Fixed problem with write level when Security was turned off
- Fixed problem with 'Not enough file handles' message
- FMail now leaves messages with the LOK flag alone.
- JAM reply linking has been built into FMAIL.EXE. This means, that now only
areas in which mail was tossed, will be processed.
- If there are more than one packet for a node, they now are added to the
bundle in chronological order. This first was the reverse order...
- There now is a possibility to have FMail store copies of all outgoing
echomail messages in a directory. See 'Directories' in FSetup.
- There now is support for the RAR and UC2 compression programs.
- If you want, you now can install programs that will be run before and/or
after mail has been compressed or decompressed. See Compression/Decompression
in FSetup.
- Areafix forwarding will create netmail messages with the KILLSENT flag.
- Problems with upper and lower case of comments of autoconnected areas fixed
- JAM auto-full rescan made more intelligent
- Optional logging of execution of program
FSetup:
- Now you can use letter keys to select from menus
- It's now possible to change the write level globally
- Fixed RA JAM-board import
- FSetup now uses AREADEF in stead of AREA in Golded config file
- Empty JAM paths of deleted areas can be removed automatically
- InterMail AutoUpdate function has been updated
- Fixed board select
- FSetup now uses the winter colorset by default when it is started
for the first time
- AreaMgr fastsearch: it is possible to type the entire area tag in stead of
only the first letter when you try to find an area in the AreaMgr. Use
<space> to start a new area tag.
- In the compression/decompression section in FSetup, you now can use two
variables behind the name of the archiving program: %a and %p
%a is substituted by the path and name of the archive that should be
processed
%p is substituted by the path where the PKT files should be extracted
(decompression) or by the path and file name of the PKT file that should
be added to the archive (compression).
If you don't use these variables, FMail will append the name of the bundle
and the PKT file as it always did.
- Export PVT switch to GoldEd's AREAS.GLD
FTools:
- FTOOLS exception fixed
- FTOOLS POST JAM local flag
- With FTOOL POST you now can create file attache messages. See
FTOOLS POST /?
There's also an OS/2 version. A major difference is that the OS/2 version has
a new dupe detection engine that can contain up to 999*1024 signatures of
messages! There is no FSetup for OS/2 yet. In stead, I included a modified
version of the DPMI version. If you start that program in a DOS box with
parameter /OS2, it will give you an option to set the number of signatures of
messages that should be stored for dupe detection purposes. Each signature
needs 4 bytes, so do not set the number of signatures too high! ;-)
