MsgNum - A Hudson Message Base Utility

Complete History of MsgNum
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
v1.3 Released 05 November 1993
# Corrected the Runtime Error problem. Again, nobody reported
it (probably because it wasn't that big of a deal). The
errorlevel being affected was 2 and every time there was a
runtime error, the maintenance would take effect. No good!
Now, if the message base is locked (being used by another
program at the moment), you will get an equivalent message
and it will drop with errorlevel 1 [No Maintenance Required].
% I have had only a few people take the time to netmail me
and say they are using the program. This is available to
everyone and I invite people to use it - but please just
route a netmail letting me know there is still a need for
this little utility.
% Will probably be adding JAM support to this somehow before
too long. Still too new to bother with very much.
v1.2 Released 06 May 1993
# Fixed a ridiculous bug. I wasn't resetting the old number
of messages after regular (nightly) maintenance was being
done. Sorry! But then, I was the one that found it - nobody
reported it.
# Corrected a little error with the copyright notification in
the documentation.
v1.1 Released 04 May 1993
+ Drops with only 2 errorlevels now.
+ MsgNum drops with Errorlevel 2 if there has been no
maintenance done since a _TOTAL_ of (your allowable amount)
has been passed. If your allowable amount is 20 messages,
and you get 10 calls of 2 messages each (or whatever
the combination), MsgNum will now drop to allow
maintenance.
+ Added a few more status messages.
v1.0 Released 01 May 1993
+ Brand new program - enjoy it!
