  12. Installation:  <-- Do it RIGHT or, EXPECT problems.
  13. -------------
  14.   Before we start, the INSTALL.EXE will work for ANY and ALL
  15.   versions of the new releases.  ProDoor, ProLON, even the
  16.   Overlay versions of ProDoor if thats what you grabbed.
  17.  
  18.   The program will automatically detect what needs to be
  19.   installed and then adjust its menus accordingly.
  20.  
  21.   Ok, lets install the INSTALL program...
  22.  
  23.   Put ALL of the new files (including the INSTALL files) in one
  24.   new clean/empty directory. Call it NEWSTUFF, or PATS, or ANYTHING,
  25.   it don't matter.... just make sure that ALL the NEW stuff gets put
  26.   into that one new directory.  We don't wanna blow any files before
  27.   we've had a chance to check this stuff out..... right??
  28.  
  29.   Unless you wanna be "ULTRA-SAFE", don't worry about backups of
  30.   your existing files.  The INSTALL program will do that for you.

  32.   Ok now, get into the new directory, type INSTALL program and,
  33.   "Follow Your Nose".  Hopefully, it'll all make sense to you.

  40. Preface:  <-- IMPORTANT !!   There is a TON of info in INSTALL.EXE
  41. --------
  42.   First of all, you should spend a LOT of time in the INSTALL.EXE
  43.   program.  Not installing the upgrade... that'll only take a FEW
  44.   minutes at most.   Hit the HELP functions in INSTALL.  There is
  45.   a TON of info in there.... all about the changes, how to use
  46.   them, what they do, and don't do, etc.
  47.  
  48.   There is a HELP screen (usually a LOT of help screenS) on every
  49.   item, on every menu, and every conceivable place I could put one
  50.   in the Install program.  Help yes... but actually, more of a
  51.   "Documentaion" feature rather than help.  Install the upgrade,
  52.   get it running, then flip back into INSTALL to hit the HELP
  53.   screens.  There is a WEALTH of information in there!!
  54.  
  55.   I won't say anything about the SECOND release except, it will
  56.   follow the 1st release within 30 days and... it will be a MAJOR
  57.   upgrade.  Features?  Too Confidential.  If I told you, I'd have
  58.   to kill you.

  61.   Now for the 1.31/3.51 changes:
  62.   ------------------------------
  63.   This was my PUNCH-LIST of changes made to ProDOOR.  The list
  64.   is NOT all-inclusive... heck, it's a FREE upgrade so I didn't
  65.   spend a lot of time making it pretty, or complete.

  67.   One thing I did do (and now regret), is that I changed a few
  68.   internal prompts.  Means some of your translations may no longer
  69.   work.  I can only think of two off the top of my head and they
  70.   were both associated with the "Visual Editor".  I think I changed
  71.   them to say "Full Screen" editor.  Can't remember for sure...

  76.   Ever wanted to get on a node and not let everyone know
  77.   you were on ??  Type SILENT once in ProDoor and bingo,
  78.   you ain't there !!  Type NODE to confirm it.

  80.   NOTE:  This is security-level sensitive... only those
  81.   with security level = 100 or higher can use it.
  82.   However, as a sysop, you can type it on the command
  83.   line for ANY caller, regardless of their security
  84.   level.

  88.   I really missed the F1 for Temp-Sysop privledges.
  89.   Also missed the Right/Left arrows for temporarily changing

  93.   You can use these keys from ProLon or ProDoor.  Nice
  94.   in ProLogon to qwikly force a caller into another
  95.   door.

  99.   exit to a door, and then return to ProDoor.
