RemoteAccess Distribution Network
Great Programs for a Great Program
Thank you for your interest in RADIST!! I am sure you will
enjoy all the files and doorware that will be coming to you
through the RADIST Network. Please read this whole document.
It is short but will give you the important information that
you will need.
All that you need to do is send me the RADAPP.xxx and also a
copy to whom you are requesting a link with. I need your
application to be able to add you to The Map that RADIST makes
available worldwide. That way everyone will know who is
connected and where they are connected too.
Obviously the SysOp that you will be receiving your files from
will also need a copy of the RADAPP.xxx unless you are receiving
your files via satellite. Please remember to rename the file to
your address ie. 1:135/71 would name their application 135-71.RAD.
This is to help keep duplicate applications from coming in on the
same day with the same name.
Once you have been setup you will need you to poll at least 2
times a week for your files. If you are 1200/2400, please poll
every other day. This is important, because some systems can
really get bogged down with too many things in the queue. It is
up to the Distributor in your area to either request that you
poll him for the files or that he sends them crash to you.
Whatever the case please work it out with him/her.
Effective April 1, 1996 the following are the active areas and
their descriptions:
(* = Inactive but files still carried by HQ and some other systems)
Tag Description
-------- ------------------------------------------------------------
* RADIST RemoteAccess File Distribution All v1.xx Files
RAD_BETA RemoteAccess Beta/Gamma Files Distribution
RAD_DORS RemoteAccess Doors - Door Converters/Door Utilties - v2.xx +
RAD_MAIL RemoteAccess Mail Doors/Mail Utilities - v2.xx +
RAD_UTIL RemoteAccess Utilities - v2.xx +
RAD_V25X RemoteAccess Version 2.5x only
RAD_VER2 RemoteAccess All Other/Miscellaneous - v2.xx +
RAD_OTHR Non RemoteAccess files. (Optional area to carry)
There is also a SysOp Message echo with the tagname of
RADIST_SYS. Please set this up as you will be receiving echomail
from others who are participating in RADIST in this echo. This
is a good place to discuss problems and ask questions about
RemoteAccess programs and the distribution.
If you have any questions about any of this, ask your Distributor.
After you are set up, give me or the Distributor a day or two to
process your application and get back to you for your feed. Make
sure you setup your password on YOUR end so when your Distributor
netmails you, everything goes smoothly. You do NOT need to set
up the password with HQ, (1:135/71).
Acknowledgment of your connection will be posted in RADIST_SYS.
======================================================================
RADIST is for all of you out there to have fun with your BBS'S and
hopefully help you get the latest and greatest programs out there
too. So participate and get involved in the Echo. There is a lot
of help to be found in there also.
